I missed last week. I remembered that I missed it when I woke up Thursday morning.
It was a ridiculously busy week and project deliverables and deadlines filled my brain, making zero room for newsletter thoughts.
I don’t pre-write these newsletters (or use Ai). The Ai space moves to fast and I find it best to write about whatever the latest things I’m seeing. So with that in mind, I’m back this week and below is what’s been top-of-mind here - Ai video.
Let’s go,

Ai Video for Storytelling
Ai video is making big strides. Just this week we saw Kling 2.0 and ByteDance Seaweed-7B launch and Veo2 in the hands of more users.
Video is also working its way into other visualization tools as well, Vizcom being a good example (showing a very, very busy work environment in this video).
What this means for us is that regardless of profession, our ability to tell stories with this medium is now at our fingertips.
What this doesn’t mean is that I’m going to be taking a director or cinematographer’s job. They’ll also be utilizing these tools.
02 / Workflows
Quick Wins
Ai video efforts can be very challenging, especially when you add character consistency, tone consistency, specific controls, etc. We work in that space often and have the battle scars to prove it.
But Ai video doesn’t have to be hard to make an impact. An example like this one takes minutes and adds a lot of value.
You can look at different views of the apparel, see how it looks in motion, mock it up on a website.
Worth the additional minutes.
03 / Tools
Tools for Video
There are a fair amount of models and access points out there, like Higgsfield shown here, but I’ll cut to the chase.
I’d suggest starting with an Ai platform with access to multiple video models. This will allow you to test various models and see what works for you.
As for platforms, we utilize Freepik and Krea. Through these tools you’ll get access to Kling and its various versions, Veo, Luma, Runway and others.
Start here, test prompts and trial run models. Learn the language here and then move on to more targeted tools as you ramp up your control requirements.
04 / FOR PAID SUBSCRIBERS
Concept to Ai Video Workflow
Over in the R&D Lab, we’ve documented how we took this industrial machine design, placed it in context and animated it all. We talk about which tools we used and why and cover:
Exploration in Midjourney
CAD with Rhino
Rendering with Keyshot
Compositing with Vizcom, Midjourney, Photoshop or Video
Animation with Vizcom, Veo2, Kling 2.0 and Kling Elements
Hope it helps!
